Yours looks an awful lot like a black burying beetle (<i>Nicrophorus nigrita</i> I found recently: http://natureid.blogspot.com/2013/10/black-burying-beetle-092713-rocky-creek.htmlKatie (Nature ID)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17730655720390625839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5700728271731802119.post-31297321494976049112010-11-08T22:13:46.957-08:002010-11-08T22:13:46.957-08:00Did you ever find out what species your rain beetl...Did you ever find out what species your rain beetle is? Your photo of the black beetle with orange bulbs on the antennae looks exactly like the big black beetles that spent several days dropping out of nowhere onto our floor in our house in Western Oregon this past week (November). I searched the web but your photo is the only one I can find that looks like our beetles. Thanks for any info you have found.Linda Finkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01021136257176196322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5700728271731802119.post-19730922198372880392010-06-23T18:44:16.132-07:002010-06-23T18:44:16.132-07:00Welcome.
